A Glimpse of Star Parish Life

Coffee and donuts after the 8:30am Sunday Mass.

We are greatful to say that Star of the Sea is a welcoming parish. We care about our committed parishioners as well as newcomers. We greet them warmly and make them feel welcomed at all times.

Hospitality is an important pillar at our parish and it is manifested in an open and welcoming spirit; a willingness to drop what we are doing and receive the other person when they need us. As good Catholics we believe and practice Jesus teachings: For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, Matthew 25:35.

Star of the Sea is one of the few parishes in San Francisco that has its doors open 7 days a week from 6:30am to 6pm Monday through Saturday and 6:30am to 9:00pm on Sundays. Our St. Joseph Chapel is open 24/7 Monday through Sunday (except from the hours of 4pm on Saturday to 9pm on Sundays) for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

Please enjoy some pictures and highlights of some of our past celebrations and social events at our parish.
