Assignment
Dear Parish Community,
I wanted to let you know of two important priest changes at our parish, effective March 1.
First, Fr. Vito Perrone, who has been doing wonderful work as chaplain of our school, has been assigned by the Archbishop as Parochial Vicar at our parish. His manifest love for our community will make him a great asset to our pastoral team. Fr. Vito will, while staying active with the school, also assume some parish responsibilities such as offering Masses and hearing confessions.
While we’re very excited to see Fr. Vito assuming a greater role here, I regret to report that our beloved Fr. Patrick Driscoll has been assigned as parochial vicar to St. Mary’s Cathedral. Fr. Driscoll is seeking incardination into the Archdiocese and must serve in two parishes before his application can be considered. We are all most grateful for Fr. Driscoll’s service and commitment to our parish and will keep him in our prayers.
We’re beginning an exciting new year, with various spiritual activities, and I’m grateful to all of you for your commitment as Catholic stewards of God’s graces. Let’s continue to offer prayers both for Fr. Vito and Fr. Driscoll as they embark on their new assignments.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Joseph Illo
