Karolina Zapolska
Director of Sacred Music Program
Born in Poland and raised Catholic, Karolina has long been passionate about music and the arts. This passion led her to study at the A. Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw, where she earned a Master’s in Dramaturgy. After her studies, she managed projects at the Cultural Center in Warsaw (Ośrodek Kultury Ochota), organizing notable international events like the Festival of Country Music, the Street Theatre Festival “Sztuka Ulicy,” and “The Sound” Festival of Authors, Composers, and Arrangers, where she was the artistic director and received an Award of the Mayor of Warsaw.
Moving to Denmark in 2000, Karolina dedicated herself to music—performing with orchestras, composing, and studying Musicology at Aarhus University, then earning a Master’s in Performance, Design, and Business Studies at Roskilde University. Her interests grew to include photography, videography, and graphic design. She has also worked for magazines and newspapers. Karolina is a member of the Danish Union of Journalists and holds an active press card. Her work has received significant recognition: in 2010, she was shortlisted for the Sony World Photography Awards and won the EISA Maestro Photo Contest in Denmark that same year. She has held numerous photography exhibitions in Denmark and the U.S., further strengthening her reputation as a visual artist.
