Join Dcn. Patrick Conley and Fr. Joseph Illo, Pastor of Star of the Sea Parish, for another conversation on The Inner Life on Relevant Radio. Fr. Illo serves as a spiritual director on the program, offering Catholic teaching, spiritual guidance, and practical insights for living the faith.

Going Deeper Into Sacred Scripture

In this conversation, Fr. Illo and Dcn. Patrick will explore how Catholics are called to read, understand, and pray with Sacred Scripture as the inspired Word of God.

They will discuss how individual passages should be understood within the whole story of salvation, how the Old Testament is fulfilled in the New Testament, and how Christ—and even the Blessed Virgin Mary—can be seen foreshadowed throughout Scripture.

The conversation will also explore the relationship between Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition, the Church’s role in interpreting difficult passages, and how the Catechism can help us understand the meaning the biblical authors intended.

Listeners will also discover how deeply Scripture is woven into the Holy Mass, the Sacraments, and the Liturgy of the Hours, as well as practical ways to pray with Scripture and allow daily Bible reading to deepen and transform our spiritual lives.

Tune in on September 30 at 9:00 AM (Pacific Time) on Relevant Radio.
