The Feast of the Dedication of St. Michael the Archangel is celebrated at Star of the Sea with a Latin Sung Mass. This ancient feast commemorates the dedication of the basilica of St. Michael on the Via Salaria in Rome and honors the Prince of the Heavenly Hosts.
In St. Michael, the Church contemplates the power of God’s protection and the victory of good over evil. As the leader of the angelic armies, he stands as a defender of the faithful and a guardian against the forces of darkness: “Who is like God?” (Quis ut Deus).
In this solemn and prayerful celebration, the Church joins the angels in praising God and entrusts herself to the care of St. Michael, confident in his powerful intercession.
All are warmly invited to participate in this sacred feast.
