The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is celebrated at Star of the Sea with a Sung Traditional Latin Mass. This great feast proclaims that the Blessed Virgin Mary, having completed her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory.

In this mystery, the Church contemplates the fulfillment of God’s promise and the victory of grace in Mary, who was preserved from sin and remained perfectly faithful to His will. As the Mother of God, she now shares fully in the glory of her Son, offering a sign of hope and consolation to the faithful: “All generations will call me blessed” (Luke 1:48).

Through the sacred prayers and chant of the Traditional Roman Rite, the faithful are invited to lift their hearts toward Heaven, where Our Lady reigns as Queen, interceding for the Church and guiding her children to Christ.

In this solemn and joyful celebration, the Church honors the glory of the Blessed Virgin Mary and seeks her intercession, that we too may one day share in the resurrection and the life of Heaven.

All are warmly invited to participate in this great feast of the Church.
