Requiem Masses for All Souls – A Week of Prayer and Remembrance
The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, observed on November 2, reminds us of our Christian duty to remember and pray for our loved ones who have gone before us.
Although All Souls’ Day is celebrated on November 2, the faithful may continue to offer Requiem Masses throughout the following week for the repose of the souls of our departed brothers and sisters. These Holy Masses are a beautiful expression of our enduring love, faith, and hope in God’s infinite mercy.
Through the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, we commend the souls of our departed loved ones to the loving embrace of God, asking Him to forgive their sins, grant them eternal rest, and welcome them into His heavenly kingdom.
“Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”
