Dear Bride and Groom-to-be,

We welcome you to our church and pray that your marriage will be joyful and sacred. Star of the Sea is committed to ensuring everything goes smoothly for you. We offer a marriage preparation program rooted in 20 centuries of Tradition, scripture, and practical experience.

We will guide you through these steps:

1. Contact the parish office for information or to schedule a meeting with a priest.
2. Meet with a priest at the parish to discuss a date and start the canonical paperwork.
3. Reach out to the Director of Music.
4. Enroll in marriage preparation courses, where married couple sponsors will support you and help answer questions.
5. Sign up for a Natural Family Planning course.
6. Please meet with a priest again to go over any questions or concerns that came up during your preparations.
7. Contact the parish office 3-4 months before your wedding to discuss the rehearsal, church protocols, and other details.
8. Finally, meet with a priest once more to review the ceremony and complete the paperwork.

Please note: The entire marriage preparation process usually takes about six months.

Documents you will need:

• A recently issued copy of your baptismal certificate if you are Catholic (contact the parish where you were baptized)
• An annulment decree if you have been married before
• Certificates from your completed marriage prep and NFP courses.

Parishioners who are current, registered, active, and contributing members for at least six months pay a total of $1200.00 in fees associated with a complete, traditional wedding at Star of the Sea Church, which breaks down as follows:

• $600 for the use of the Church
• $200 for the Wedding Coordinator
• $200 for the Organist
• $200 for the Cantor

Non-parishioners who wish to be married at Star of the Sea Church pay a total of $1,800 in associated fees.

Alternatively, a simple exchange of vows before a priest and one witness may be arranged for $200.00.
