For the past several years, we have organized the “Walk to Mary” on the First Saturday in May, the same day the original Walk to Mary began eleven years ago in Wisconsin at the shrine of Our Lady of Champion.

At Star of the Sea, pilgrims gather at 10:30 a.m. in the parish schoolyard, and we begin our walking pilgrimage—praying the Rosary rain or shine—to the Carmelite Chapel and Monastery of Cristo Rey (721 Parker Ave., San Francisco, CA). The 1.5-mile walk begins at Star of the Sea Parish (4420 Geary Blvd., San Francisco, CA).

Upon arrival, we celebrate a Traditional Latin Sung Mass at 12:00 noon. Our pastor, Fr. Joseph Illo, leads this beautiful walk and serves as the celebrant of the Mass.
