Sung Latin Mass – Confessions during Mass

At Star of the Sea Parish, we celebrate a Sung Sunday Traditional Latin Mass according to the 1962 Roman Calendar, offered with a full choir and schola. Through sacred chant and choral music, this solemn celebration of the Roman Rite draws the faithful into the beauty, reverence, and timeless worship of the Church on the Lord’s Day.

Low Sunday(TLM)

Low Sunday, also known as Dominica in Albis, is celebrated at Star of the Sea with a Sung Traditional Latin Mass. This day recalls the newly baptized, who once laid aside their white garments, and invites all the faithful to reflect on the grace of Baptism.

The Traditional Latin Mass (TLM)

The Traditional Latin Mass, also known as the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, is a profound expression of the Church’s liturgical heritage, shaped and handed down through centuries of faithful worship. Rooted in ancient tradition and codified following the Council of Trent in the 16th century, this form of the Mass has nourished the spiritual lives of countless saints and generations of the faithful.
Celebrated in Latin, the universal language of the Church, the Traditional Latin Mass draws the faithful into a deep sense of reverence and transcendence. Its prayers, gestures, and sacred silence reflect a profound awareness of the mystery of the Holy Eucharist—the true presence of Christ. The priest, facing ad orientem (toward the East), leads the congregation in a unified act of worship directed toward God.
Rich in symbolism, the liturgy unfolds with solemn beauty: Gregorian chant, incense, and ritual gestures elevate the soul and direct the heart toward the divine. Every movement and prayer is imbued with meaning, inviting the faithful into contemplation and participation in the sacrifice of Christ made present on the altar.
More than a historical form, the Traditional Latin Mass remains a living tradition within the Church, offering a timeless encounter with the sacred. It provides a space for prayer, reflection, and reverence, drawing the faithful into deeper union with Christ and His Church.
