“This is where the battle is. I want to heal and save souls in the Bay Area!”
Cameron Song Sellers, a retired U.S. Army Colonel and ordained transitional deacon for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco, will share leadership principles he learned in the military that he will bring to the priesthood and how these apply to all of us. Bring all the questions you have!
Cameron Song Sellers is a newly ordained transitional deacon for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco. He was ordained to the Sacred Order of the Diaconate by Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone on May 9, 2026. Deacon Sellers is a retired U.S. Army Colonel who served more than 34 years in the military, including deployments in Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Raised in a Baptist family, his journey to the Catholic faith and eventual vocation to the priesthood was profoundly shaped by his encounters with military chaplains during his years of service. He is an alumnus of the Tolton Program at Edmundite Missions in Selma, Alabama, and completed his priestly formation at St. Patrick’s Seminary & University in Menlo Park, California. His remarkable path from military leadership to ordained ministry reflects a life dedicated to service — first to his country and now to the Church.
