Feeding the hungry and homeless in San Francisco
Star Outreach is a hands-on ministry dedicated to serving the hungry and homeless in San Francisco. Inspired by Pope Francis’ call during the Jubilee Year of Mercy to live out the works of mercy, we come together as a parish family to bring compassion, dignity, and hope to our neighbors in need.
This ministry is powered by volunteers—people of all ages who want to put faith into action. Whether you can help once a month or every week, there is a place for you.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers help in a variety of ways, including:
- Monthly service with the Missionaries of Charity to support the homeless
- Cooking and preparing meals (serving up to 150 individuals)
- Making sandwiches every Sunday for distribution on the streets of San Francisco
- Donating and organizing winter items like beanies, scarves, and gloves
- Supporting outreach needs through donations that help fund meal ingredients, toiletries, and assistance for mothers through the Gabriel Project
How You Can Help
You don’t need special skills—just a willing heart. Star Outreach is a meaningful way to serve others, meet fellow parishioners, and live the Gospel through simple acts of mercy.
