The Vigil of Pentecost is celebrated at Star of the Sea with a Sung Traditional Latin Mass. This ancient and solemn liturgy prepares the faithful for the coming of the Holy Spirit, recalling the Church’s prayerful anticipation before the first Pentecost.

Rooted in the traditional Roman Rite, the Vigil expresses the Church’s expectant prayer for the coming of the Paraclete. Through its sacred readings and chants, it recalls the work of the Holy Spirit throughout salvation history, culminating in the renewal and sanctification of souls. As at the first Pentecost, the faithful are invited to persevere in prayer, awaiting the Spirit who enlightens the mind, strengthens the will, and inflames the heart with divine charity.

In this sacred liturgy, the Church calls upon the Holy Spirit to descend anew, to purify, renew, and unite the faithful more deeply to Christ and His Mystical Body.

All are warmly invited to participate in this solemn and prayerful vigil.
