Michael Ortner was a keynote speaker at The 2018 National Catholic Classical Schools Conference presented by The Institute for Catholic Liberal Education, at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

BIO

Michael Ortner is the Chairman of Cana Academy, a nonprofit that helps humanities teachers more effectively teach their students to read the Great Books, write about them in analytical essays, and discuss them in Socratic seminars. Previously, Mike founded Capterra in 1999 as an online marketplace for business software and sold the company to Gartner in 2015. Capterra won numerous awards ranging from the Inc. 500 list as one of the fastest growing private companies in the United States to the Washington Business Journal’s Best Places to Work. He also volunteered for Exodus Youth Services, a street ministry in Washington, DC and at Nyumbani, an AIDs orphanage in Kenya. He has a business degree from Georgetown University and a philosophy degree from the University of London. Originally from Malvern, PA, Mike lives in McLean, VA with his wife and six children.
