This year, Fr. Joseph Illo will lead a pilgrimage to various European Catholic shrines including Fatima, Lourdes, Burgos, Santiago and more!  There are two options: a shorter ten day pilgrimage, and a longer fifteen day pilgrimage.

10 Day: FRANCE, SPAIN, PORTUGAL (Lourdes, Burgos, Santiago de Compostela, Fatima)

September 24-October 3, 2017 (10 days) Tour price: $ 2,390.00 plus $ 520.00 airline taxes

Tour price includes

Roundtrip airfare from SFO to Lourdes and return from Lisbon. Hotel accommodations at convents or tourist class hotels. Daily breakfast and dinner. Round trip transfers from Airport to Hotel. All entrance fees in itinerary. Touring in the itinerary with a deluxe air-conditioned motor coach. Daily Mass arrangements. Baggage handling at hotels. Only one piece of luggage per person. ITINERARY

 

Day 1, September 24, Sunday, Departure from SFO

Our pilgrimage begins as we leave our home town for an overnight flight to Lourdes, France.  Dinner and breakfast are served on board.

Day 2, September 25, Monday, LOURDES

Upon arrival, you will meet your driver and transfer to your hotel. We will celebrate Mass at the Basilica and join Candlelight Procession in the evening. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes.

Day 3, September 26, Tuesday, LOURDES

After breakfast, we will celebrate a morning Mass at the Grotto of our Lady. Participate in the walking tour to the Way of the Cross. Lourdes is the birthplace of St. Bernadette to whom Our Lady appeared in 1858 near the Grotto of Massabielle

Take time for personal devotions, drink Holy Water, visit the Miraculous Baths and enjoy a video presentation of the story of Our Lady.  Participate in the evening Candlelight Procession. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes.

Day 4, September 27, Wednesday, LOURDES

After breakfast, we will join the guided tour to the Museum and St. Bernadette‘s House. Afternoon enjoy free time for shopping and personal prayers. Candlelight Procession in the evening. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes.

Day 5, September 28, Thursday, LOURDES, BURGOS

After breakfast, we will drive to Burgos, Spain which is situated in the Pilgrim´s Road to Santiago de Compostela. After arrival we will visit the cathedral of Burgos, declared World Heritage. Dinner and overnight in Burgos.

Day 6, September 29, Friday, BURGOS, SANTIAGO de COMPESTELA

We will depart for Santiago De Compostela, Spain which is the 3rd most important place of pilgrimage (after Jerusalem and Rome). Dinner and overnight in Santiago de Compostela.

Day 7, September 30, Saturday, SANTIAGO de COMPESTELA, FATIMA

After breakfast, we’ll visit the Archbishop Palace, the Plaza del Oratorio and Raja Palace as well as celebrate Mass in St. James’ Cathedral. The relics of St. James and two disciples lie in a tomb in the crypt under the altar. Continue to Fatima for  dinner and overnight.

Day 8, October 1, Sunday, FATIMA

After breakfast, we will celebrate Mass at the Little Chapel of the Apparitions and possession of Holy Eucharist. We will tour Fatima and see the Basilica, site of Francesco and Jacinta’s graves; the Hamlet of Aljustrel, where the children lived; and Valinhos, the site of Our Lady’s appearance after the children’s return from prison. Follow the Stations of the Cross along the Via Sacra (The Sacred Way) was built by Hungarian refugees and culminates in the Chapel of Calvary, which overlooks all of Fatima. Join pilgrims from around the world in an evening candlelight procession to pray the rosary. In the late afternoon watch the video presentation. Dinner and overnight in Fatima.

Day 9, October 2, Monday, FATIMA, SANTAREM

After breakfast and mass, we will drive to Santarem to visit the Church of St Stephen, containing the oldest recorded Eucharistic miracle. Behold the 750 years old Holy Miracle of Santarem, a relic of the Bleeding Host. Continue to Fatima and join pilgrims from around the world in an evening candlelight procession to pray the rosary. Dinner and overnight in Fatima.

Day 10, October 3, Tuesday, FATIMA, USA

After breakfast transfer to Lisbon airport for a flight to SFO.

Day 1, September 19, Tuesday, Departure from SFO

Our pilgrimage begins as we leave our home town for an overnight flight to Paris.  Dinner and breakfast are served on board.

Day 2, September 20, Wednesday, Arrival to PARIS, FRANCE

Upon arrival, you will meet your driver and transfer to your hotel in Paris. Enjoy free time to rest and relax. Dinner and overnight in Paris.

Day 3, September 21, Thursday, PARIS

Wake up in Paris and depart for mass at Shrine of the Miraculous Medal. View the incorrupt body of St. Catherine Labouret whose guardian angel led her to the chapel where the Blessed Virgin displayed a vision of the miraculous medal and, later, the green scapular. The Virgin promised bountiful graces for all who wore these. See the Church of St. Vincent de Paul. Continue the panoramic tour of this beautiful city, which includes the Champs Elysees, L’Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower and a visit Notre Dame Cathedral. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4, September 22, Friday, PARIS, NEVERS

After breakfast we depart for Nevers by way of the picturesque Loire Valley.  After taking the veil in 1867, St. Bernadette lived for 12 years as a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of Nevers.  At least three times during her short life-time, she received the last Sacraments. In addition to asthma, she was gradually struck by other illnesses; among them was tuberculosis of the lung and a tubercular tumor in her right knee. St. Bernadette eventually died at the age of 35. See St. Bernadette’s incorrupt body at the convent of St. Gildard miraculously preserved since her death in 1879. Dinner and overnight in Nevers.

Day 5, September 23, Saturday, NEVERS, PARAY-LE-MONIAL, ARS, LA SALETTE

After breakfast we journey to Paray-le-Monial where we will visit the Chapel of the Visitation where Jesus exposed His Sacred Heart to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque during a number of apparitions, Reliquary of St. Margaret containing her relics, located underneath a wax figure of the saint. We continue on to the pretty little town of Ars, best known for St. Jean-Marie Vianney, the patron saint of priests. There are several sights of special importance such as Church (Église), a 12-century church where the saint preached, Basilica (Basilique), a newer basilica built next to the church that displays the Saint’s incorrupt body; Heart Chapel, which contains the Saint’s heart; Home of St. John Vianney preserved the way he left it; Underground Church constructed for pilgrim groups, La Providence, an orphanage founded by St. John Vianney. We continue to La Salette for dinner and overnight.

Day 6, September 24, Sunday, LA SALETTE, After breakfast we will visit La Salette located in a high alpine pasture in the French Alps, La Salette is the site where the Virgin Mary appeared in 1846 to two shepherds, Melanie Matthew and Maximin Gird. Our Lady appeared to these shepherds crying, lamenting over the lack of observance of Sundays and the profaning of her Son’s holy name. A spring forever marks the spot where the Virgin appeared and where millions of pilgrims come to in order to drink the fresh spring water and to pray. The stunning mountain scenery and lush mountain trails make La Salette one of the most spectacular pilgrimage site in France, with a beautiful Basilica built to honor the Virgin Mary. In 1996 La Salette celebrated the 150th anniversary of Our Lady’s first appearance. Dinner and overnight in La Salette.

Day 7, September 25, Monday, LA SALETTE, LOURDES

After breakfast, we will depart for Lourdes. Upon arrival to Lourdes, we will celebrate Mass at the Basilica and join Candlelight Procession in the evening. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes.

Day 8, September 26, Tuesday, LOURDES

INSURANCE: Insurance coverage is not included in the tour prices. CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS:

Ninety (90) days or more prior to the departure, a NON-REFUNDABLE service fee of $100 per person will apply; 90 to 60 days prior to the departure, a cancellation of 25% of tour cost will apply; 59 to 30 days prior to the departure, a cancellation of 50% of tour cost will apply; 29 to 15 days prior to the departure, a cancellation of 75% of tour cost will apply; 14 days or less prior to the departure, a cancellation of 100% of tour cost will apply. There will be no refunds on unused tour services. All airline tickets issued in conjunction with this tour are subject to separate airline penalties, per individual carrier’s rules and regulations. The traveler (s) acknowledges receiving, reading, and agreeing to the terms and conditions set forth below.

Cancellations and request for refunds must be in writing. Cancellation fees will not be waived due to an illness. We highly recommend travel insurance for this reason.

SEAT ASSIGNMENT: Random seats are assigned for all group participants. If you would like to secure a specific seat, or sit with a travel companion please advise us of such request at the time of booking, we will make an effort to accommodate you, however we cannot guarantee. If you must have specific seat we recommend you to be at the airport at least three hours prior to departure and arrange the seat assignment with your airline’s gate agent. Bulkhead and exit row seating can never be requested prior to the day of departure. Glory Tours can NEVER guarantee any specific seats. Seats are at the sole discretion of the airline and are pending availability.

AIRPORT TAXES, SECURITY FEES, AND FUEL CHARGES: Airport taxes are collected at the time of final payment and paid to the airlines on your behalf at the time of ticketing.  Airport taxes are usually $350.00 to $750.00, based on departure city and government increases which are subject to change until tickets are issued (airport taxes include Federal Inspection Fees for the U.S. Customs and Immigration; International Air Transportation Tax; Agricultural tax; security fees, and other airport related taxes). Please note that unless airline ticket has been paid for and issued, airport taxes security, fuel charges are subject to change.

AIR CLAUSE: Glory Tours acts as an agent of the air carrier. The airlines concerned, their agents and affiliates are not to be responsible for any act, occurrence, or event while in flight. The traveler’s ticket constitutes the sole contract between the airlines and purchaser of this tickety and/or passengers. Tours may be sold in conjunction with any airline, which are members of IATA and/or ARC.

BAGGAGE:  Please limit your baggage to one suitcase and one carry-on.  An additional fee will be charged for each extra suitcase(s).

PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP: A valid passport is required for the traveler (s). The passport should be valid for at least nine (9) months beyond the time of arrival. No refunds will be made to a traveler delayed or denied entry to an aircraft or a foreign country.

VISA: US and Pilipino citizen don’t require visa for Holy Land. Glory Tours will arrange entrance visas to Egypt. Other nationalities have to check visa requirements and obtain visa prior to departure if needed

SPECIAL NOTICE: Delays, cancellations and overbooking may occur on air flights, cruises and land reservations by the participating carriers and hotels. While Glory Tours will do everything possible to avoid these inconveniences, it cannot and will not assume responsibility as such for the respective carriers and hotels.

RESPONSIBILITY: Glory Tours and its representatives are not responsible for accidents, damages, baggage losses, and/or delays due to strikes, sickness, weather, acts of God, acts of governments or authorities, wars (declared or undeclared), criminal acts committed by third parties, hostilities, civil disturbances, riots, theft, pilferage or to faults or defaults of any company used for carrying out these tours. In the event it becomes necessary or advisable, for the comfort or well being of the passengers, or for any reason whatsoever, to alter/change the itinerary or arrangements and to cancel the tour at any time, such alterations or cancellation may be made without penalty to the operator. Additional expenses, if any, shall be borne by the traveler (s). The Company reserves the right to accept or reject any person as a tour participant, and to expel, if deemed necessary, any participant from the tour. It is agreed by and between the traveler (s) and Glory Tours that all disputes and matters whatever arising under, in connection with or incident to this agreement shall be litigated, if at all, in and before a court located in Washington, D.C. to the exclusion of the courts of any other city, state or country.
