Sacred Music Program

About Star of the Sea Music Program

Led by Director of Music Lynn Kraehling, the Star Sacred Music Program aspires to glorify the Sacred Liturgy with beautiful music.  Our parish has three musical choirs: The Latin Mass Choir, the Novus Ordo Choir, and the Children’s Choir.

During the Summer months the parish offers a unique opportunity for children and adults to learn about what the Second Vatican Council called the most suited music for the Sacred Liturgy, Gregorian Chant.

Everyone is welcome to join one of our choirs.  For more information, please contact our Director of Music Lynn Kraehling, (415) 812-2462, or lynn@starparish.com

ABOUT THE CHILDREN’S AVE MARIA STELLA SCHOLA PROGRAM

Ave Maria Stella Schola is a group for kids who like to learn how to sing Gregorian chant and Latin hymns so that they would be able to sing the vast repertoire of sacred music. We use the Ward Method, a progressive teaching method for elementary school children, to teach them music, particularly square notes notation, ear training, sight-reading, and basic conducting in the Solesmes method.

The classes are held every Monday from 3:30 to 4:30 PM under the leadership of Karolina Zapolska
